You remember the R&B one-hit-wonder Houston right? He’s probably most famous for his 2004 hit “I Like Dat” and even more infamous for his 2005 mental breakdown (which resulted in a suicide attempt and gouging his eye out with a plastic fork while high on PCP).
Well Houston’s back in the news again, and unfortunately it’s still not for anything positive. The singer was arrested last week for DUI, and TMZ has all the details:
28-year-old Houston — full name Houston Summers — was driving erratically near Malibu Wednesday in an older-looking SUV … so cops pulled him over.
According to law enforcement, officers approached the vehicle and it smelled of marijuana. When police asked Houston questions, we’re told his answers were incoherent.
Houston was then placed under arrest on suspicion of DUI. Sources tell TMZ, cops believe Houston was driving under the influence of drugs … not alcohol.
The singer was released from jail Thursday. Calls to Houston were not returned.
Just looking at his mugshot there’s lots of jokes I could make or shade I could throw, but I’m not even gonna go there. Clearly he suffers from serious mental health issues, and it’s really sad to see someone with so much talent and potential slip into such a dark place. I just hope he eventually finds the help he needs before things get even worse.
