Nas & Lauryn Hill Rock Summer Jam + Lauryn Issues Statement Supporting Nicki’s Decision

If anything positive came out of all of yesterday’s Summer Jam drama, it would have to be this.

After Nicki Minaj backed out of her scheduled performance, Nas (who was originally billed as a guest of Nicki’s) took the stage and gave the crowd a set filled with hip hop classics. And as if the Queensbridge emcee wasn’t enough, he brought out the legendary Lauryn Hill for a bad ass duet.

Man, I swear “If I Ruled The World” is literally one of my FAVORITE songs, and if I would’ve been there I would’ve fell the f*ck out!

Beyonce & Her Besties Check Out WTT In Paris

Jay-Z and Kanye West‘s Watch the Throne tour rolled into Paris last night, and the packed crowd included some of the biggest names in showbiz. Most notably, Jigga’s superstar wife Beyonce was spotted showing her support with best friends Kelly Rowland and Gwyneth Paltrow in tow. (No Michelle in sight, but yes, that’s The-Dream kickin’ it next to Kelly.)

It’s no surprise that Hov and ‘Ye milked their locale for all it’s worth, performing “N*ggas in Paris” a record 11 times during the show. Hit the jump to check out the marathon of their hit single.

Beyonce Slays The Stage At Revel

Although I wasn’t glued to Twitter over the long weekend, the few times I hit up my timeline, it was filled with tweets about Beyonce. King Bey hit up Atlantic City for Memorial Day and gave her fans four phenomenal shows at the new Revel Resort and Casino.

Mrs. Knowles-Carter gave so many Stans their lives with these concerts, but besides the crazed super fans, the audience was also filled with tons of celebs. Those in attendance included Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Hudson, Kim Kardashian, The-Dream, and even our First Lady Michelle Obama.

Beyonce effortlessly flowed through her catalog, performing crowd favorites like “Single Ladies” and “Countdown,” and even covered hits from Lauryn Hill and Whitney Houston. I’m far from a Bey Stan, but seeing one of these shows would’ve been AMAZING!

Rihanna Rocks “American Idol” Finale

I’m not usually a huge American Idol fan, but I tuned in to tonight’s finale simply for all of the guest performances. Surprisingly enough, one of my favorites of the night came from Rihanna.

The Bajan beauty took the stage to perform her latest single “Where Have You Been,” and I was lovin’ it! I know some of y’all will disagree with me, but I honestly think this was one of the best performances I’ve seen from Rihanna PERIOD. Everyone knows she’s not a power house vocalist, but that b*tch danced her ass off, sang live (a rarity nowadays), and actually sounded pretty damn good. Of course, as usual, she looked amazing doing it too.

Sidenote: Did anyone else immediately think of the Illuminati rumors because of that damn triangle?

Fantasia & Her Catsuit Duet With Idol’s Joshua Ledet

Alright, who the hell let ‘Tasia outta the house in Catwoman’s hand-me-downs?

The season three winner of American Idol returned to Hollywood tonight to duet with contestant Joshua Ledet on the show’s finale. Unfortunately, Fantasia‘s outfit choice left most people focused on her bad styling instead of her vocals.

The two performed Elton John’s “Take Me to the Pilot,” and they really are a match made in vocal heaven. The performance was good, but Fantasia’s gratuitous thigh exposure WAS NOT. I don’t have the energy to throw any more shade tonight, but you’ll find plenty more of it on Twitter.

Lil’ Kim Enlists Eve & Missy Elliott To Kick Off New Tour

The Queen Bee is baaaaaaccccccckkkkkkk!!!!

If you happened to be at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx on Friday night (May 18), you probably had a damn good time. Lil’ Kim kicked off her “Return of the Queen” tour, and the guest appearances were off the chain! Kimmy enlisted Mob Wives star Drita D’Avanzo to host the show, and brought out other special guests including Juelz Santana and Mr. Cheeks.

The best cameos of the night though, came from Eve and Missy Elliott. Kim brought out her fellow, female emcees to perform “Hot Boyz,” and the crowd was eating it up. With all of the beef and drama between women in the game, it’s fabulous to see some of  THE BEST actually come together. I can’t wait to hear new music from all of them!

Nicki Minaj Performs Down Under

Nicki Minaj gave her Australian Barbz quite the treat, kicking off her “Pink Friday” tour at Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Wednesday (May 16). Judging by the pics, it looks like Onika’s fans will be having nothing short of a blast at these shows.

After her stint down under, Nicki will be heading through Japan and Europe before kicking off the U.S. leg of her tour in July. (And in case you care, I’m still salty as hell that there’s not a date even CLOSE to me!)

Rihanna Channels Cleopatra At Robin Hood Benefit

Rihanna got in touch with her inner goddess/warrior queen at Monday night’s Robin Hood Foundation Benefit in Manhattan. In an Egyptian style costume and over-the-top makeup, RiRi took the stage and helped to raise over $57 million for the foundation and their fight against poverty.

Mary J. Blige’s Derby Anthem

As random as it may sound, going to the Kentucky Derby is one of the things on my bucket list. (Honestly, I just want an excuse to wear an enormous hat. *Shrugs*) But speaking of the Derby, Mary J. Blige opened up the 138th annual horse race this Saturday with a fabulous rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

Belting to a crowd of 150,000, Miss Blige gave her all to the National Anthem, and it seemed the crowd more than approved. Check out the performance below.

Rihanna Does SNL

I don’t watch Saturday Night Live on the regular, but I actually happened to catch both of Rihanna‘s performances last night. RiRi took the stage twice; performing a medley of “Birthday Cake” and “Talk That Talk,” and her latest cut “Where Have You Been” for her second performance.

It’s no secret that Rihanna isn’t a superstar vocalist, and that was once again the case last night. It looked like she was having a blast though, and of course she looked AMAZING!

Sidenote: Am I the only one that thought for a split second that she might bring out Breezy for “Birthday Cake?”
