It Looks Like Memphitz Is Trying To Get On The No-Fly List

The husband of Lil Wayne’s baby mama #1 Toya Carter – who co-stars alongside her in the BET reality show “Toya: A Family Affair” — was arrested today at an airport in Atlanta … after he allegedly tried to bring a gun onto an airplane.

Law enforcement tells TMZ, Mickey “Memphitz” Wright put his backpack through the X-ray scanner at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport – and TSA agents quicklydiscovered the firearm and called the cops.

According to police, Wright had a valid license to carry the weapon … insisting he had simply forgotten the gun was in his bag — but it’s still illegal to bring it on a plane.

Wright was arrested on the spot and transferred to a nearby jail. He is still in custody.

I’m just at a complete loss on this one. I mean really?!? I know I can’t take my 5 ounce bottle of hairspray on a plane, so what in the hell was Memphitz on thinking he could bring a damn gun through security? It’s called common sense people *sigh* maybe you should try it sometime.

Lindsay Lohan Suing Pitbull?

So one simple lyric from his hit “Give Me Everything” - “I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan” - may cost Pitbull a big chunk of change. That’s right, the lawsuit happy actress is on the attack once again. (If you don’t recall, LiLo went after E-Trade back in 2010 for the their “Milkaholic Lindsay” commercial; later settling with the company out of court).

Lindsay is pissed, claiming in her lawsuit … “the lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff.”

Lindsay, who claims in the lawsuit she is “a professional actor of good repute and standing in the Screen Actors Guild, is suing under the New York civil rights laws, which protects people from having their name exploited for commercial purposes.

Lindsay alleges the appearance of her name in the song “causes [Lindsay] to be associated and identified in connection with defendants.”

The suit — filed by Stephanie Ovadia – seeks an injunction to stop all of the defendants from broadcasting the song. It also seeks unspecified damages. Ovadia is the same lawyer who filed the E*TRADE lawsuit on Lindsay’s behalf, which settled for a confidential sum. [SOURCE]

The suit also names collaborators Ne-Yo and Afrojack as defendants.

I used to really like Lindsay Lohan back in her Mean Girl days, but this chick needs a serious reality check. Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time sweetie. If you want people to stop talking about you, stop acting-a-f*cking-fool and get your life together.

Sidenote: Can you imagine if every celebrity used in a hip hop metaphor tried to sue? Actresses like Halle Berry would be pocketing a pretty penny…

Teairra Mari Popped For DUI + Assault Charges

Teairra, Teairra, Teairra…

Fresh off the announcement of her label change, the R&B singer (real name: Teairra Marquisha Thomas) was arrested for drunk driving in Beverly Hills early Friday morning.

Via TMZ:

Law enforcement sources tell us the 23-year-old actress/singer was driving a silver Infiniti through Beverly Hills around 3:00 AM, when she rear-ended the car in front of her.

Police at the accident scene observed “signs of intoxication” from Teairra — and arrested her for DUI. One person who was at the scene tells TMZ Teairra was “really messed up … she couldn’t even stand.”

And it gets worse … we’re told Teairra didn’t play nice while she was being booked and became “combative” with one of the arresting officers. Sources tell us one cop suffered a “minor cut” to his hand during the incident.

As a result, Mari now faces multiple charges — including DUI and assault on a police officer.

According to law enforcement, Mari is still in custody and bail has been set at $50k.

I will never understand why finding a DD is so damn hard for people, especially celebrities. Us regular folks have no problem calling a cab or a friend to haul our drunk asses home, and you can’t pay a driver?

Big Boi Was Ready To Party, Arrested For Drug Possession

Over the weekend, Outkast rapper Antwan “Big Boi” Patton was arrested in Miami for possession of a controlled substance, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers performed a pat-down on Big Boi from Outkast when he got off a cruise ship in Miami yesterday, and found several drugs ON HIS PERSON … this according to the Miami-Dade Police report obtained by TMZ.

Cops say U.S. Customs and Border Patrol searched Big Boi after a drug-sniffing dog named Cezar reacted to Big Boi.

According to the Miami-Dade Police report, “The pat-down revealed 5.7 grams of MDMA in powder form, 3 pills of suspect ecstacy, 9 whole pills of Viagra and 2 [half-pills] of Viagra, and a cigarette roller with suspect marijuana residue.”

TMZ broke the story, 36-year-old Big Boi was arrested for 3 counts of possession of narcotics and 1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia. [SOURCE]

Since the incident, Big Boi’s lawyer, Daniel Kane, issued the following statement:

“While Big Boi was traveling with his group and friends, a small amount of contraband was found in the collective luggage,” said a statement from Kane. “I am confident when the entire facts are aired Big Boi will be completely exonerated.”

I can’t help but giggle at the words from his attorney. When the facts are aired he’ll be exonerated? The only fact I can take from the story is that Big Boi was trying to get it in o_O

Big Sean Arrested For Sexual Assault, Releases Statement

Detroit rapper Big Sean was arrested Thursday evening (August 4) following a stop on Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers Tour in Lewiston, New York. The emcee (real name Sean Anderson) and associate Willie Hansbro were charged with forcible touching, third-degree sex abuse and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Both men were eventually released on $500 bail each.

Sean’s lawyer, Scott E. Leemon, issued the following statement on the rapper’s behalf:

Last night, recording artists, Sean “Big Sean” Anderson and Willie “Sayitainttone” Hansbro were arrested and then immediately released by the NY State Police in connection with an allegation made by a female who was at their concert in Lewiston, New York. Both men were charged with misdemeanors and they both vehemently deny the allegations. I am confident, that after further investigation, both men will be vindicated.

The alleged victim’s name has not been released.

Nicki Minaj 911 Audio Released

Just when Nicki may have thought this whole “situation” disappeared, TMZ acquired the 911 audio from the July altercation between her and hypeman Safaree “SB” Samuels. (And I use hypeman loosely, because we all know they’re f*cking.)

Nicki was quick to deny the allegations but has kept quiet since the police reports were released; and now with this 911 call, it’s pretty evident that the couple had quite the squabble that night.

The manager of the Palomar Hotel in Dallas made the call, initially saying he needed someone removed from a room. As the tape goes on you can hear a female in the background (presumably Nicki) upset and yelling about being hit in the face. A male voice is also audible, and confronts the manager about putting his phone away. The manager even goes on to explain to the operator that the guests involved are Nicki Minaj and her camp:

“It’s pretty crazy up here right now. This is a celebrity profile group. This is Nicki Minaj. I don’t know if you know anything about that. But her entire crew is up here on the eighth floor, and it is getting crazy. So as soon as possible would be awesome.”

And of course in true dysfunctional couple fashion, Nicki refused to press any charges.

Waka Flocka Cuffed & Released

ATL rapper Waka Flocka Flame was arrested Saturday (July 23) in Queens, New York for, wait for it…possession of marijuana. No big shocker there. MTV has confirmed with the NYPD that the rapper was released today with no criminal charges filed.

Waka, who is scheduled to perform in Kansas City tonight, took to twitter this afternoon to address the situation:

Hmmmm I could be wrong, but #onlybecauseurap is probably why you avoided picking up any charges…

Rihanna Will Be Heading To Court

That’s right, famed photographer David LaChapelle’s copyright violation case against the “S&M” singer will be heading to court.

The celebrity snapper sued the star earlier this year over allegations her controversial promo, which was banned in 11 countries across the world, was “directly derived” from some of his images.

The case went to court in New York and in a ruling released on Thursday U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin noted alleged similarities between the music video and LaChapelle’s work and paved the way for the lawsuit to go to trial.

Judge Scheindlin dismissed LaChapelle’s claims of trade-dress infringement, unfair competition and unjust enrichment, but allowed him to proceed with his allegation of copyright violation.

A conference between the parties is scheduled for August 10th. [SOURCE]

If you aren’t aware of the ~~blatant biting~~ uncanny similarities, peep them here. I definitely think LaChapelle has a valid case, I just wonder if all of the blame will be placed on Rihanna? It’ll be interesting to see if Melina (the video’s director) faces any legal action as well.
