Mary J. Blige’s Derby Anthem

As random as it may sound, going to the Kentucky Derby is one of the things on my bucket list. (Honestly, I just want an excuse to wear an enormous hat. *Shrugs*) But speaking of the Derby, Mary J. Blige opened up the 138th annual horse race this Saturday with a fabulous rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

Belting to a crowd of 150,000, Miss Blige gave her all to the National Anthem, and it seemed the crowd more than approved. Check out the performance below.

Matt Barnes & Gloria Govan Split

To anyone that’s followed even a small part of the Basketball Wives L.A. drama, this really should come as no surprise. Laker forward Matt Barnes has released an official statement announcing the split of him and fiance Gloria Govan:

I’d like to address the rumors surrounding mine and Gloria’s relationship,” Barnes’ statement read. “We have reached the difficult decision of ending our relationship and will be going our separate ways at this time. We will work together to raise our sons and wish each other only the best. [SOURCE]

Like I said, this is definitely not a shocker. But judging by the Govan sisters’ previous relationship patterns, I’m sure they’ll be reconciled just in time for season two…

Did T.O. OD?

Anyone that has peeped The T.O. Show on VH1 has probably clowned Terrell Owens a time or two for his extra-emotional moments and constant stream of tears. But it appears now that things may have really gotten seriously ugly for the athlete/reality star. According to TMZ, T.O. was taken to an L.A. hospital late last week for a possible drug overdose.

Emergency officials were responding to a call about a possible prescription pill overdose when they were dispatched to the L.A. apartment where Terrell Owens was staying last week … law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

As we first reported, Owens was transported by ambulance to an L.A. hospital Thursday night. Cops were also dispatched to investigate — and spoke with T.O. at the hospital.

Owens has since been released.

A rep for Owens had no comment on the matter.

T.O. was famously hospitalized back in 2006 — when he insisted he had a bad reaction to painkillers … despite reports that he tried to commit suicide by inhaling 35 Vicodin pills.

T.O. later held a news conference on the matter and stated, “The rumor of me taking 35 pills, I think is absurd. I don’t think I would be here if I had taken 35 pills.”

I hope this is nothing more but a rumor, but usually TMZ is pretty reliable and on point with their reports. If it is true, I wish nothing but the best for T.O. in getting all of the help that he needs.

Blank Stare: Ron Artest Preps For “Dancing With The Stars”

I. JUST. CAN’T.

Rocking a pair of Wilt Chamberlain’s old shorts, Ron Artest, Metta World Peace or whatever-the-hell is name is, gave paparazzi a taste of his “moves” outside of the Dancing with the Stars studios in Hollywood. Get it girl!

This season could actually turn out to be quite entertaining o_O

Braylon Edwards Is Not A Keri Hilson Fan

You won’t catch San Francisco 49er Braylon Edwards bumping No Boys Allowed anytime soon. The wide receiver recently hit up a stop on the I Am Still Music Tour and was clearly unimpressed by the singer’s set. (And I’m unimpressed that he can’t even spell her name correctly.)

And c’mon Braylon, learn how to throw Twitter shade properly! Next time throw that “@” in there and make it official.

Drizzy & Serena Hit The Court

The Young Money rapper and tennis champ had a friendly match this weekend down in South Florida, and no doubt sparked some relationship rumors. Earlier in the week, Drake hit up Serena on twitter referencing the said match up.

Now I doubt the two are really a couple, but I give Drake some props. It takes some balls to hit the tennis court with Serena. (No pun intended.) I hope his pride wasn’t damaged to much during the match.

Drake’s Opening Pitch

Drizzy Drake was in Cleveland this weekend t0 perform with Lupe Fiasco and Bone Thugs, and while in town, popped by Progressive Stadium to show the Indians some love on their 215th birthday. The rapper threw out the ceremonial first pitch and was even rockin’ a personalized jersey.

After watching the interview, I think it’s safe to say Drake isn’t the biggest fan of baseball these days. When asked what team he supports, his response was

“I’m sort of just like an Indians fan ya know, right now…I like baseball in general. Baseball’s really good.”

I swear sometimes I just can’t with his corny ass. Anyway though, The Indians took the “L” that night against the White Sox, but I’m sure Drake fans still left the stadium happy.

The video quality isn’t the best, but you can see Aubrey’s opening pitch after the break.
