Usually I could really care less about what the Black Eyed Peas are up to, but I think this is pretty dope. The group has announced they will be playing a benefit concert in Minot, North Dakota, with all proceeds going to the victims of the recent disastrous flooding.
You’re probably wondering why the hell BEP would randomly be helping a cause in North Dakota right? Well Fergie’s hubby, actor Josh Duhamel, was born and raised in Minot, and still has a lot of connections to the area.
A local connection has led to the scheduling of a super-group benefit concert to be held at the State Fairgrounds in Minot. The international renowned Black Eyed Peas are scheduled to perform Sept. 3, with all concert proceeds going to the Minot Area Community Foundation’s Minot Area Recovery Fund to assist flood victims in the region.
Actor Josh Duhamel, who was raised in Minot and attended Minot State University, is married to Stacy Ferguson who is better known as Fergie. Fergie is a member of the Black Eyed Peas. She also is known for songwriting, fashion designing and as an actress. Duhamel’s mother, Bonny Kemper, resides in Minot. [SOURCE]
Although I don’t always admit it, I was born and raised in North Dakota as well, so it’s nice to see when my area doesn’t just slip under the radar.
If you have any interest in the benefit, tickets are scheduled to go on sale August 12 and will be priced at $100.
