Teairra Mari just dropped the video for her latest single “U Did That,” and the best adjective for it would be underhwelming.
Now I’ll be the first person to admit I’m a fan of Teairra’s (I still get extra geeked when “Phonebooth” comes on Pandora), but I am just not seeing it for this track. I’m not saying it’s a bad song (of course the 2 Chainz feature is dope), but it just doesn’t seem single-worthy. And as far as the video goes, Teairra looks like she’s trying WAY TOO HARD to be sexy. Ol’ girl is absolutely GORGEOUS to begin with, so all of that extra sexpot sh*t is just not necessary.
It’s a damn shame Teairra continues to fall short because she can actually sing too. I think she just needs someone to guide her in the right direction and she could really have a successful career one day. *Turns on “Make Her Feel Good”*
In case you missed it, Lil’ Kim dropped by Power 105.1 in New York Thursday (May 17) morning and chopped it up with the Breakfast Club. Never ones to hold back, Charlamagne, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy came at Kim with the questions everyone’s been dying to know the answers to. Everything from her past relationships, to plastic surgery, and of course the numerous “beefs” with other female emcees; nothing was off limits.
They definitely grilled the sh*t outta Kimmy, but she held her own and gave a damn good interview. I grew up on Kim so I’ll always have love and respect for her, and this interview really just renewed that for me.
Whether you love her or hate her, I’d say it’s absolutely worth your time to check it out.

In one of the most random on-screen pairings we’ve seen in a while, Nasir plays Miss Minaj’s leading man in her latest video “Right By My Side.” And as unexpected as it may be, they actually make a pretty cute couple. I can’t lie, I’m loving Nicki’s style in the clip too; it’s nice too see fashionable outfits once in a while and not outrageous costumes.
Oh and I can’t forget about Breezy. The track features Chris Brown, and you can catch him crooning his bars and clowning with Nicki throughout the video.

Nicki Minaj gave her Australian Barbz quite the treat, kicking off her “Pink Friday” tour at Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on Wednesday (May 16). Judging by the pics, it looks like Onika’s fans will be having nothing short of a blast at these shows.
After her stint down under, Nicki will be heading through Japan and Europe before kicking off the U.S. leg of her tour in July. (And in case you care, I’m still salty as hell that there’s not a date even CLOSE to me!)

Rihanna got in touch with her inner goddess/warrior queen at Monday night’s Robin Hood Foundation Benefit in Manhattan. In an Egyptian style costume and over-the-top makeup, RiRi took the stage and helped to raise over $57 million for the foundation and their fight against poverty.

Earlier today T.I. dropped his latest single “Like That,” and the true Tip fans will love it. The beat, his bars, the delivery; it all just flows perfect. The track is set to appear on T.I.’s upcoming Trouble Man album, but until the LP drops, just press play and enjoy.

I’m not sure what the hell BET is thinking with this one…
According to Hip Hollywood, the two main stars of its hit series The Game will not be returning next season.
According to a well placed source, HipHollywood.com has learned exclusively that Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall will NOT return to BET’s highest rated show, The Game.
It will be interesting to see how the show moves forward from here because their characters Derwin and Melanie are central to The Game’s plot. Our source also added that both are very busy right now, Hall is working on another project, while Mowery is still filming her Style network reality show.
The hope is that the two actors will have a chance to come back and end their storyline, but for now all we know is that they won’t be back for season 6.
To solidify this information, Tia took to Twitter to make the official announcement.

It’s no secret that homophobia tends to run rampant in the hip hop community, so it’s refreshing to see an emcee (especially one as HUGE as Jay-Z) publicly support the gay community.
CNN caught up with Hov shortly after the President made his initial announcement endorsing gay marriage, and asked Mr. Carter his thoughts on the issue.
I’ve always thought it as something that’s still holding the country back. What people do in their own homes, is you know, their business. You choose to love whoever you love. That’s their business. It’s no different than discriminating against blacks. It’s discrimination, plain and simple.
When asked if he thought it would cost President Obama votes, Jay gave one of the best responses you could imagine.
I think it’s the right thing to do. So whether it costs him votes or not…Again, it’s really not about votes. It’s about people. So whether it costs him votes or not, I think it’s the right thing to do as a human being.
